When does the French Horizons Bootcamp take place?

The bootcamp will take place from June 13th to 24th, 2026. You will need to arrive in Nancy on June 13th and make your way to the accommodation where you will be met by our team. You'll need to book your onward/return journey from Nancy on June 24th.

Who can apply for the Bootcamp?

Students in any field and of any level are welcome to apply. No specific skills are needed to participate in the bootcamp project. If you are interested in art, technology and inclusion and want to learn more about these topics while discovering the French joie de vivre, this is the bootcamp for you! You must be 18 years old and hold student status in your home country in order to apply.

What is included in the registration fees?

Registration fees include accommodation, breakfast and lunch for the duration of the bootcamp, as well as 4 evening meals and all the activities and excursions.

Is travel to and from Nancy included in the registration fees?

No, you will need to organise and pay for your own travel costs.

How do I get to Nancy?

If flying into Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, you have 2 options to get to Nancy:
Option 1: High-speed train (TGV) direct from the airport to Lorraine-TGV, where you will use the shuttle bus to transfer to Nancy-Ville station.
Option 2: Hop on the RER B (Paris metro train) to Gare du Nord. Transfer to the Gare de l’Est (5 minutes on foot), then direct high-speed train (TGV) to Nancy-Ville station.

If flying into Luxembourg, take the tram from the airport to the main train station. There are regular connections (TER) from there to Nancy-Ville station.

Please note that in France, TGV train tickets must be bought in advance and access to those trains is restricted to ticket-holders. Tickets are available to buy around 3 months before travel at the following site: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/ It is advisable to book a train 3-4 hours after your flight lands in case of delay.

What should I pack?

The weather in Nancy in June is usually fine with sunshine and temperatures anywhere from warm to hot. Nights generally get cooler, so make sure to pack a sweater. There is no need to bring too many clothes and get weighed down by a heavy suitcase as there is a laundry in the residence (to be paid on site).

Don't forget to bring an electrical adapter for charging your telephones and other devices.

Where will I be staying during the bootcamp?

You'll be staying in an individual studio in a student residence conveniently located next to a trolleybus stop and within walking distance of Nancy city centre. You'll find more information here.

How much money will I need?

You will certainly want to bring some spending money with you to take advantage of the nightlife in Nancy and to take home some precious souvenirs! You will also need to pay for 7 evening meals. Card payments are accepted almost everywhere in France even for small purchases. Check with your bank about payment fees in foreign currencies.

Do I need a visa to come to France?

This will depend on your nationality. Please check the following link for information:

https://www.france-visas.gouv.fr/en/web/france-visas/tourist-or-private-visit

If a visa is necessary, apply for a tourist visa and not a student visa, as you will not receive a registration certificate from the Université de Lorraine.
